Fundamentals of Web Design
As part of my Fundamentals of Web Design course, I completed a full website evaluation and redesign proposal for Sports for the World’s Children Foundation, a nonprofit that provides sports equipment and mentorship to underserved youth.
The goal of the project was to assess their current website and develop a strategic plan to modernize it.
What I Did
Before creating the final pitch presentation, I completed:
A historical comparison of archived and current versions of the site
A mobile usability test (the site was not mobile friendly)
A full website assessment analyzing layout, navigation, and calls-to-action
A target audience breakdown (donors, volunteers, and beneficiary families)
A competitive analysis
An information architecture report
A sitemap and homepage wireframe
Recommendations for implementing a CMS and improving the donation process
The focus was not just visual updates, but improving usability, engagement, and long-term sustainability.
